“Affinity fits how I actually work. It gives me speed without sacrificing control, and structure without killing creativity. It removes friction from the process and lets me move from rough ideas to finished work without overcomplicating things.”

Q&A

  • I don’t think I ever had a lightning-bolt moment. I’ve always been open to trying new things and following my curiosity, especially through identity work, which gives me space to explore and experiment. What I’ve learned is that you don’t become known for something because of one breakthrough. You become known for it by committing. By showing up and doing the work over and over again. It’s rarely glamorous, but consistency and tenacity are what really matter. If you do something well enough for long enough, a reputation gets built naturally.

  • Honestly? Winning the project. There’s so much great talent out there, and access to designers has never been easier for clients. So when someone chooses to work with me, it tells me my offer, onboarding, and overall process are working. That moment is incredibly energizing. It’s proof the work is resonating, the trust is there, and everything behind the scenes is doing what it’s meant to do. As a business owner, that feedback loop matters just as much as the creative itself.

  • Removing friction has fueled my creativity for a long time. In my own work and business, I’m always exploring new ways to keep clients energized and excited throughout the process. That mindset shows up in everything I create. I’m constantly asking simple questions: Will this help my clients win? Will this help them succeed? Will this remove friction? If the answer is yes, I know I’m heading in the right direction.

  • What Affinity gets right is staying true to their community. They focus on the creatives actually using the software and genuinely care about their experience, which isn’t something you can say about every tool out there. I also admire how much they invest in education. Making the software accessible, and free in many schools, means young creatives aren’t priced out before they even get started. That matters. It’s how you support the next generation of creative thinkers.

  • I always end up showing people how Live Filters work. They’re incredibly fast, and seeing adjustments happen in real time is a huge time saver. I’ve never hit the “spinning wheel of doom” or been stuck waiting for the software to catch up, which means I can experiment freely and keep momentum instead of breaking my flow.
