Creating custom studios in Affinity

One of the most amazing things about Affinity is that instead of adapting your workflow to the interface, you can adapt the interface to your workflow. You can rearrange panels, mix and match tools from different disciplines, save multiple setups, and even share with others.

This lesson will show you how to do just that.

Using artwork from American illustrator Pope Phoenix – whose work blends expressive raster brushwork with clean vector elements – we’ll show you how to create a custom studio tailored to someone who uses both pixel and vector tools.

Lesson objectives

By the end of the lesson, you’ll:

  • understand what a Studio in Affinity is and the key areas you can customize
  • know how to create your own custom studio, tailored to your specific needs
  • know how to share a custom studio with someone else

Lesson resources

Before you begin, make sure you’ve downloaded Affinity and logged in using your Canva ID. You’ll also want to download the Lesson 8 source file to follow along.
